The Centre for Heat Treatment turns 10

The Centre for Heat Treatment is hub for research and development within the field of heat treatment. It enables companies to gain expertise, create networks, and conduct long-term research. This year, the Centre turns ten!

2016 marks the ten year anniversary of the founding of the Heat Treatment Centre. The Centre, which is managed by Swerim and RISE, brings together applied research and development within the field of heat treatment, based on the needs of Swedish companies. The member companies themselves vote for the ideas which will lead to concrete research projects.

More than 50 projects during 10 years

Each year, the Centre runs a number of projects funded by the member companies. So far, it has completed 50 such projects with more on the horizon. One of the Centre's members is Scania, who benefits greatly from the collaboration.

"The research project programmes often serve to enhance competencies and are used to optimise performance or improve requirements specification for our products. For us, networking is an important part of the Centre. We gain better contact and dialogue with our suppliers, and it plays a vital role in product development," says Ninos Hawsho, Scania.
