CONSENSO is project funded by EIT RawMaterials. It aims at developing on-line, non-contact measurement techniques for metallurgical processes.
With better temperature measurements BST (Broadband Spectral Thermometry) and chemical analysis LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) the project aims at increasing the resource efficiency in mineral and metallurgical processes. Benefits are less use of critical raw materials, less energy consumption, and possibly enables better use of secondary raw materials.
The project started in 2018 and will run until 2021. Involved partners are both research institutes, product manufacturers as well as end users (steel and iron-makers) located in Sweden and Italy.
