Broadband spectral thermometry (BST) is a pyrometry technique developed by RISE and Agellis. By monitoring the radiation from a surface the temperature can be calculated. Benefits from BST compared to more conventional IR pyrometry is the ability to detect disturbances such as smoke in the field of view or slag on the surface of metals. The results are therefore more robust and accurate.
