30th annual seminar by the Low-alloy and stainless steel research consortium!

Around 60 participated joined us for a day to explore the possibilities of machine learning, artificial intelligence and large language models to help in materials development.

Consortium members from SSAB, Alleima, Outokumpu, Uddeholm and Alfa Laval, along with representatives from Ferritico, Fero Labs, University Skövde, ATA Gears and LTU joined us for a day at the Swerim office in Stockholm to explore the possibilities of machine learning, artificial intelligence and large language models to help in materials development.

The recent advances in this field have the potential to change the way we do research – permanently.

Shirin Nouhi and Krister Ekström presented recent work by Swerim in this field. In total, more than 60 participated in the seminar in Kista and online. Thanks to all who joined us for a very nice seminar day and interesting discussions!

Apart from organizing an annual seminar, the consortium for low-alloy and stainless steel (CLASS) conducts research projects on mutually interesting topics concerning the processing and development of these materials. Interested in joining? Contact Tuomo Nyyssönen (Tuomo.nyyssonen@swerim.se) or Shirin Nouhi (Shirin.nouhi@swerim.se) for more information.
