Institut für Baustoff-Forschung EV – FEHS, a joint research organization representing Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Austria, promotes the use of slags and residues from iron- and steelmaking. With over 60 years of experience, FEHS investigates and develops innovative applications for these by-products, focusing on quality evaluation, durability, and environmental compatibility. Employing 45 qualified professionals, including 20 with university degrees, FEHS has published over 100 scientific articles in the past five years and actively participates in workshops and international conferences to disseminate knowledge. Their involvement in numerous national and international projects, including RFCS and Horizon initiatives, highlights their commitment to advancing sustainable practices in the steel industry.
