Recycling and Resource Day 2025
September 26, On-line. Registration and program >
A webinar on recycling, reuse, and the valorization of residual materials, where Alessandro Vecchio from Acciaierie d'Italia gave the well-received presentation “Selection, through complete characterisation, of steelmaking residues for different zinc removal processes and their best recycling” during Recycling and Resource Day.
The ZincVal Newsletters
Our Newsletters presents the objectives, methodologies, and activities of the ZincVal project, which aims to develop technologies for the reuse of low-zinc residues in steelmaking processes. Discover how the consortium is addressing environmental challenges and enhancing resource efficiency in the steel industry. Read our Newsletters >
ESTEP & FEhS: Slag Workshop
March 5–6 in Duisburg, Germany. The ESTEP Focus Group Circular Economy and the FEhS Institute invited to a two-days’ workshop on “The role of slags and other by-products within circular economy in the steel industry”.
Workshop: The role of slags and other by-products within circular economy in the steel industry
Daminao Capobianco, RINA CSM, presented “Treatment for valorization of Zn containing residues in dust and sludge: Hydrocyclone treatment”.
Chemistry Day 2025
Swerim participated in the company fair, February 20, at the Chemistry Day at Luleå University of Technology, an event for high school students in their second and third years of science and technology programs in Norrbotten and Västerbotten in Sweden.
The purpose of the Chemistry day is to increase students’ interest in studying engineering programmes. The Zincval project was one of the main projects presented to the students as an example of a project that is significant for future of steelmaking processes.
ESTEP Annual Event 2024 – H2 for Green Steel meets A Circular Economy driven by the European Steel
The ZincVal project (valorisation of low zinc-containing residues) participated in the ESTEP annual event 2024 in Linz, where Damiano Capobianco, Esin İplik, Yanping Xiao and Marianne Magnelöv, presented the different recycling methods to be developed in the project. We also had the opportunity to participate in the poster-section.
We appreciate the discussions with the participants at the conference and it was inspiring to see other initiatives addressing similar issues.
