The Department of Energy and Technology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) conducts research on biomass from agriculture and forestry, its conversion into various bioenergy and material products, and the environmental impacts of biomass extraction.
SLU carries out research on biocarbon as a climate mitigation measure and its use in areas such as soil improvement and water purification.
SLU is actively involved in the innovation cluster for pyrolysis and biocarbon and participates in policy development at the EU level.
