Vargön Alloys AB is Sweden’s only producer of ferrochromium and one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of ferrochromium. The company has a long tradition of taking environmental responsibility, based on regulatory requirements but with the ambition to exceed them. Its environmental policy states that ferrochromium production should be as resource-efficient and environmentally effective as possible.
The projects are crucial for establishing production and supply chains for biocarbon, enabling Vargön to reach net-zero emissions by 2045. Vargön also aims to increase understanding and acceptance of biocarbon use within the metal industry and to demonstrate the societal benefits that can be achieved.
Within the projects, Vargön Alloys contributes its expertise related to the ferrochromium process and the technical conditions for using biocarbon.
