Lagneborg Prize 2023
The 2023 Lagneborg prize of SEK 25,000 was awarded to Hans Magnusson for his efforts in the development and use of material models (both thermodynamics, kinetics and deformation) for applied materials and process development.
As well as for his inclusive mentoring of young researchers in many different fields. Hans has built bridges between industry, institutes and universities not only within the Vinnova project (named Bridge Builder of the Year 2021) but also within the processing area at Swerim.
Hans is curious and committed and wants to drive and work in projects in order to never stop in his development as a researcher. He is also very popular and has a lot of trust with both colleagues and customers. He creates a good atmosphere and is always easy to work with.

Rune Lagneborg, after whom the award is named, was a metal researcher, professor of metallography at KTH. He left the institute in 1998 after having worked as director of the Institute for Metallurgical Research for 25 years.
