The Lagneborg Prize 2025
The Lagneborg Prize 2025, amounting to SEK 25,000, has been awarded to Nuria Fuertes for her outstanding contributions to the development of the fields of corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, and materials for hydrogen applications at Swerim.
After eight years in roles as researcher, senior researcher, and research leader within the field of corrosion, Nuria assumed the position of Group Manager of the newly established Corrosion and Hydrogen Embrittlement Group in 2018. Under her leadership, the group has been successfully established and has developed strongly. Nuria has also played a key role in initiating important projects and forums within the field.
In 2024, Nuria took the next step in her career by becoming Coordinator for Research and Business Development within the Hydrogen & Metals area at Swerim. With her strong drive and social skills, Nuria has, in a very short time, succeeded in increasing Swerim’s visibility in the field both nationally and internationally. She has initiated strong collaborations with both industrial clients and other research organizations, leading to several new applications and projects.
Nuria consistently focuses on creating customer value and maintaining high quality in both research work and reporting, which has built strong trust among colleagues and customers alike. She is also a role model when it comes to building bridges and initiating new collaborations within Swerim—between different groups, business areas, and between our two sites.
