Project Re-FLiP: Revolutionizing Battery Recycling
We have successfully kicked off the Re-FLiP project, aimed at revolutionizing the recycling of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries!
This innovative initiative leverages a novel pyrometallurgical approach integrated with hydrometallurgy to efficiently recover valuable resources such as lithium (Li), phosphorus (P), and iron (Fe), as well as the potential recovery of electrolyte from end-of-life LFP. Our goal is to maximize resource efficiency in battery production.
We are proud to collaborate with a consortium that includes experts in recycling from Stena Recycling, battery manufacturing represented by Volvo Cars, hydrometallurgy expertise from Chalmers, and our own pyrometallurgical expertise at Swerim AB.
The project is financed by the Swedish Energy Agency within the Battery Fund program, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation.
